Hello Everyone,

Hope you are all doing great. We are sending you a short status update to let you know that everything is progressing as planned, and even faster 😉 

Manufacturing is now 90% complete 💫

We got confirmation that all components of LUDOS Asia have been manufactured, and a mass production sample is already on its way to us. This means that once we receive and confirm the sample, the factory will assemble all games. At that stage manufacturing will be 100% complete and we can start the fulfilment process. We expect a lot to happen in the coming 2-3 weeks, so stay tuned! 

Fulfilment 🛳️ 

If all continues this smoothly, we'll lock your addresses in about 2 weeks, so the fulfilment warehouses can already prepare to ship your orders in a few months. We'll send you at least 1 more update before locking your addresses, and also before shipping your games, so even last minute you'll be able to reach out to us if you need an urgent address change.

Rulebook translations completed ✅

Rulebook translations are now complete, check them out here. Thank you very much to all 16 of you for putting so much love and care into the translations. Thanks to you, the digital rules of all 4 games in the LUDOS Asia collection are available online. Together with all the French, Dutch, German, Italian and Spanish speakers, we are forever grateful to you 🤗

We'll probably be back sooner than a month this time to update you about the assembly of games and a more detailed fulfilment plan in a video update from Krisztina and Tamas. As always, we'll be here to answer all of your questions and comments in the meantime.

Hello Everyone!

How are you all doing? It's been a month since we last updated you, and we are happy to be back with some exciting news.

How is manufacturing going?

Let's start with the most important: production is going smoothly, and we are still ahead of schedule to deliver your games later this year! 🥳 We are continuously in contact with the factory to closely monitor production at every stage. While we don't yet have many videos to share about the components, we do have some behind-the-scenes content about the game mats for you:

Game donations 😇

We'd like to thank all of you again for backing this campaign, and unlocking a donation of 1500+ games to schools in Asia. We'd also like to extend our special thanks to everyone who  added even more funds in the pledge manager to contribute an additional 50 games in donations. We'll keep you posted about the countries, cities and schools that receive these games.

What else have we been up to? 👀

• Continued organizing the fulfilment of LUDOS Asia, so once manufacturing is finished, your games can immediately set sail to our warehouses 🚀
• Started our research for the next games in the LUDOS Collection. It's super exciting to study and try all the ancient games out there. Stay tuned, as we'll reveal the upcoming games this summer🤩
• Attended Protospiel Online with the next game in the Globetrotter Game Series. We managed to playtest this upcoming Japan-themed game 5 times, received great feedback, and now we are back to making some alterations so we can present you the best possible game next year.
• Our family visited us in Peru, and we even got the chance to play the games in the LUDOS Asia collection with them:

Hello again Backers,

It's great to be back so soon with a progress update. As for us, we are super happy about how things are going: for now, we are ahead of schedule! 🥳

The pledge manager is now closed 🔒

LUDOS Asia is ready to hit manufacturing! Almost everyone completed their survey and so we'd like to thank you all very much for facilitating our work to deliver your games on time 🙏  (Haven't completed your survey yet? Please head over to your BackerKit account to do so, or retrieve it from here.)

Now that orders are locked, we enter the exciting stage of manufacturing your games. We can't wait to see the final copies ourselves and share them with you in an update. The factory just started the preparations, and we got confirmation that your games will be ready in July. In the meantime we will try to acquire some behind-the-scenes videos about the manufacturing process and share them with you, so you can follow along 😉 We are super excited!

Print & Play distributed 🖨️

If you completed your survey, and have a 0 balance, you should already have received your Print and Play copy through BackerKit, so you can print LUDOS Asia during the weekend already if you like 😉 Please check your mailbox for an email from BackerKit (including your spam folder) with your download link. We'd love to see how Your Print and Play turns out, so feel free to drop us an email with some pics! 🤩 

Progress report 📈

In the past 3 weeks our main focus was to finalize and approve game files for manufacturing. But that's not all! We've been researching more ancient games for the next volume in the LUDOS collection (more info coming soon), playtested some of these games and brainstormed about potential graphic styles with our lovely designers Lívia and Tímea. We also updated our website with LUDOS Asia and created the second prototype of the upcoming Japan-themed game in the Globetrotter Game Series. If you are interested to try one of the early versions of the game, we'll be playtesting it at Protospiel Online between May 3-5. Hope to see you there!

Those of you who are subscribed to our monthly newsletter have already read about our road trip in Patagonia, and those who follow us on instagram know that we are currently in Peru, exploring the country and collecting lots and lots of inspirations for our upcoming games.

PLEDGE MANAGER CLOSING | April 10th 📣

Hello Everyone,

How are you all doing? We have really been missing the interactions we had during the campaign, so it's great to be back with an update and looking forward to reading your comments, and helping you out with your questions. We'll keep this one brief, and give you all the details about what comes after the pledge manager is closed in the next update, in a few days.

‼️Locking orders on April 10th, 5pm EST

We are thrilled that almost 90% of you completed their survey, and are ready to receive their games. If you haven't had the chance to complete yours yet, please head over to your BackerKit account to access it. If you can't find your survey link, you can retrieve it from here.

📋 Why is it important to complete this survey? We collect your addresses and outstanding shipping fees through the BackerKit survey. We will only be able to ship orders for completed surveys.

🔒 What does it mean that you'll lock orders? Once we lock your orders, you'll no longer be able to modify your cart. We need to lock your orders so we can pass the final quantities to the manufacturer, and later, to the fulfilment center. (Please note that even if your orders are locked, you'll still be able to modify your shipping address until we start sending out your orders later this year.)

⏰ When will you charge us for shipping and add-ons? To speed things up, and make sure you don't have to worry about any increases in worldwide shipping rates and any other costs before receiving your games, we will charge for add-ons, shipping and applicable taxes right after we lock your orders (April 10th after 5pm EST).

We're thrilled to announce that the Pledge Manager for LUDOS Asia is officially open. This is your opportunity to add more items to your order (e.g., promo token packs, our previous games, etc.), and provide your shipping address for a smooth delivery. Let's get this rolling together, so we can head into manufacturing asap and be sure to deliver your games before Christmas! 🚀

How does the BackerKit pledge manager work? 🤔

1️⃣ You will soon receive an email from BackerKit, asking to complete your pledge manager survey for LUDOS Asia (please also check your spam folder for this email).
2️⃣ Once you access your pledge manager account, your Kickstarter order and any backed add-ons will already be in your cart. Feel free to add more items if you wish. If you were eligible for the Heroes of Asia mini expansion, you'll find it pre-selected in your cart as a complimentary item.
3️⃣ Please don't forget to enter your address details at the end of the survey. Without your address, we won't be able to deliver your order. (You'll be able to update your address until we start shipping and will send several updates about locking your addresses later this year.)

Didn't receive your survey?: if you don't receive your survey by the end of the week there is a chance that you used a '@privaterelay.appleid.com' email address when you pledged on Kickstarter. In this case, please share a different email address with us so we can update it in BackerKit for you. If you don't receive your survey until the end of this week, please also let us know and we'll look into it. INTERESTED IN OUR PREVIOUS GAMES?

🌶️🔥 Chili Mafia: the first game in the Globetrotter Series is a fun 2-8 player set-collection party card game that plays in 20-40 minutes. Play individually or in teams, and build chili pepper gangs to score the most points and become the most respected mafia boss.

🏔️🇳🇵 Reviving Kathmandu: the second game in the Globetrotter Series is a 1-6 player bidding & set-collection family game. Build statues, shrines, stupas and pagodas to earn the most points and become the most respected craftsman in Kathmandu.

SHIPPING & TAXES 🛳️

Once you access your pledge manager account and update your cart with add-ons, you'll immediately see the shipping fee and any applicable taxes added to your order. Whatever amount you'll see is the total amount you'll pay for your order. We won't charge any additional fees. All you'll need to do in the coming months is wait until we deliver your order around the end of this year, just in time for Christmas.

❗IMPORTANT: your credit cards will only be charged once the pledge manager closes (around mid April), and NOT right after you complete your survey. Until the pledge manager is open you'll be able to make changes to your order freely. We'll send you at least 2 updates before we close the pledge manager to notify you about this.

Complimentary items 🎁 & Print and Play ✂️

Complimentary items: for early bird and Bagh Chal Backers, and for anyone who was signed up on the BackerKit landing page before the campaign (and backed the LUDOS Asia Deluxe Collection tier), we added the Heroes of Asia mini expansion to their carts as a complimentary item. If you think you were eligible for this but don't see the mini expansion in your cart, please reach out to us, and we'll sort it out for you.

Print and Play files: Together with Alexander Norbäck we are working hard on your Print and Play files. We want you to have the very same game experience when printing LUDOS Asia as if you received the physical copy. As this requires all files to be manufacturing-ready, we'll need around 3-4 weeks to complete them. Good news! This means you'll receive the files right after we close the pledge manager around the end of April.

Puzzle challenge results 🧩

The Progressive Puzzle Challenge is now closed. More than 350 of you participated and demonstrated outstanding enthusiasm, which we really appreciate. We checked and evaluated all your answers, and while the initial goal of the puzzles was to have some fun and get to know the games together, those who really surprised us with their outstanding answers will find a little bonus in their pledge manager cart. Thank you again! We will be back with puzzles in the next campaign, and will do our best to make it an even better experience for all of you. 🤗

Game donations 😇

Using our own funds we'll be donating 1555 games to kids across Asia. Based on your suggestions, we included an option for you to contribute to this cause. All funds collected in the 'tip jar' of the pledge manager will go towards manufacturing more games for kids in Asia.
